Meet The LeadBoston Team
Kathryn Henderson
LeadBoston Co-ModeratorKathryn Henderson is also Assistant Vice President of Partnerships at YW Boston. She joined YW Boston in 2009 and oversees the organization’s portfolio of civic engagement and anti-racism programs, including Community Dialogues, Stand Against Racism, and LeadBoston. Henderson is responsible for managing the human and financial resources for these programs as well as providing direction for curriculum development, evaluation and volunteer training.
Prior to her tenure at YW Boston, Henderson was National Programs Manager for Reach Out and Read, an acclaimed youth literacy program. She has also worked with Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance.
Henderson has also served as an adjunct professor at Tufts University and Bay State College and served as a committee chair of Walk Boston. She holds a bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross and a master’s degree from Springfield College. A certified facilitator through the Interaction Institute for Social Change, Henderson is a 2011 graduate of LeadBoston.
Sheera Bornstein
Senior Manager of PartnershipsAs Partnerships Manager, Sheera Bornstein works to grow YW Boston’s leadership development and racial justice programs. She connects with corporations, NGOs, educational institutions, and other community institutions to identify LeadBoston candidates, support efforts to improve workplace inclusivity, and help develop cross-sector networks.
Sheera joined YW with professional experience in strategy consulting, conflict resolution, and economics. Most recently, Sheera served as a strategy consultant for FSG,a global firm that advises corporations, foundations, NGOs, and collaborations on their social impact and shared value strategies. Prior to FSG, Sheera completed a Residence in Social Enterprise with New Sector Alliance and Citizen Schools. Before CitizenSchools, Sheera was a facilitator at Seeds of Peace where she designed curriculum and facilitated daily dialogue sessions for youth affected by local and global conflicts.
Additionally, Sheera has served as a mediator, trainer and court liaison for a number of community mediation programs including Metropolitan Mediation Services and the Harvard Mediation Program. Sheera has a degree in Economics from Oberlin College.
Rachel Brewer
LeadBoston AssociateRachel joined the YW team in September 2018 as the LeadBoston Associate. She’s eager to support the participants, alumni, and educators of the LeadBoston Program as they create an equity-minded leadership network in and beyond Boston. In her role, she coordinates the logistics and communications of the LeadBoston program to ensure that participants can learn about inequalities and communities throughout Boston in a meaningful, memorable way.
Prior to working with YW Boston, Rachel worked with various national and local campaigns focused on college affordability, anti-corruption measures, and voter access to government. She holds a degree in Government and International Politics from George Mason University.
Eric Esteves
LeadBoston Co-FacilitatorEric Esteves is a philanthropist, educator, artist, community advocate, and technologist.
Most recently, he was the Director of the Social Innovation Fund at the Boston Foundation, where he oversaw the expansion of the Success Boston transition coaching intervention and manged a portfolio of investments in the college access/success space. Prior to being a grantmaker, Eric was an educational technology expert in both K-12 and higher education. Eric attended Northeastern University and graduated with a BS in Management Information Systems from the College of Business Administration and a MS in Information Systems from the College of Engineering.
Typically nonchalant, he gets excited about the usual things; trivia, hip-hop, kayaking, genealogy, politics, social justice, photography, poetry, sweet potato pie, and to-do lists.
